Pilot supported delivery of ready-to-use therapeutic food by providing real-time data of potential supply chain disruptions
Building resilient supply chains requires a collaborative approach and a commitment to data sharing. That’s why Everstream Analytics is proud to be a founding partner of the Global Supply Resilience Initiative (GSRI), in collaboration with The World Economic Forum (WEF), UNICEF, Accenture, and Digimarc.
The GSRI, founded in 2021, brings together a public-private coalition of stakeholders including shippers, carriers, and technology partners to work together to enhance supply chain visibility and resilience. By sharing data and insights, we can collectively identify vulnerabilities, anticipate risks, and make more informed decisions to mitigate the impact of disruptions. This is of particular importance for the most critical supplies needed in humanitarian settings to save lives.
One of the most compelling demonstrations of GSRI’s potential is its pilot project with UNICEF. This pilot focused on the supply of ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) in West Africa, a region severely impacted by acute malnutrition. Everstream provided real-time data on system performance and potential disruptions that supported UNICEF in maintaining an effective supply chain for life-saving therapeutic foods.
For example, when the border in Equatorial Guinea closed due to the Marburg virus outbreak, the GSRI platform alerted users, triggering a mitigation plan that included re-planning routes and advocating for a humanitarian corridor.
Everstream’s work with UNICEF is currently expanding to more countries, including Pakistan where we are currently monitoring flood conditions. By providing an analysis of historical data and meteorological trends, Everstream offers UNICEF support in emergency preparedness and risk analysis.
Everstream’s Intelligence Solutions analysts have played a pivotal role over the years in securing and protecting these humanitarian supply chains, monitoring for increased disruption from geopolitical and climate risk.
“We are proud to support UNICEF in increasing the visibility into humanitarian supply chains so that vital goods can be delivered to the most critical areas. This is a remarkable and inspiring collaboration that can make a real and lasting impact on children’s lives,” shared Mirko Woitzik, Global Director of Intelligence at Everstream Analytics.
Supply chains are the backbone of the global economy, however, they are increasingly threatened by natural disasters, geopolitical tensions, labor shortages, and economic shocks. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted these vulnerabilities, causing widespread disruptions and exposing the fragility of global supply chains.
By harnessing the power of shared intelligence, we can create a future where supply chains are not only able to withstand disruptions but thrive in the face of uncertainty.
