How to Weather California’s Next Port Strike

U.S. West Coast ports account for 44% of the nation’s global seaborne container imports and upwards of 61% of U.S. imports from Asia. That shipping is at high risk of disruption from potential strike and work slowdowns.

The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) represents 29 ports on the U.S. West Coast, including the Port of Los Angeles, the Port of Long Beach, the Port of Seattle, and the Port of Oakland. PMA workers could go on strike as early as July 1, when their current contract expires.
